The Georgian embassy in Greece has announced today that the citizens of Georgia, along with 32 other non- European Union countries, will be able to visit Greece with simplified rules from today onwards.
Citizens who are planning to travel to Greece will be required to complete a PLF form before leaving for the country.
However, the Georgian foreign ministry said all citizens must fill out the electronic form at least 24 hours before departure at the government official website at – https://travel.gov.gr/#/.
The embassy has stated that one can enter Greece by showing an EU- recognised COVID-19 certificate or meeting one of the following conditions mentioned below-
- A certificate of vaccination valid for the nine months after the last dose
- Certificate of recovery from Covid-19, issued on the 14th day after treatment, with a validity of 180 day
- Negative rapid test results received within the last 24 hours, or negative PCR test certificates received within the last 72 hours,
Moreover, since the pandemic, Greece has reported over 2 million COVID-19 cases and 23000 deaths.
Individuals holding European vaccine passports who are planning to travel from Europe to Greece will not require to undergo Covid-19 tests before entering Greece.
Health Minister Athanasios Plevris, said that from Monday onwards those people with active European vaccine certificates could enter Greece without obligatory testing.
Vassilis Kikilias, the tourism minister of Greece, said that the nation is preparing to welcome tourists from March 1, 2022, onwards. He further said that Greece is an important destination for tourists as it offers unique experiences and gives them a chance to explore various types of Mediterranean food.
The country is aiming for 4.5% of economic growth this year by easing the restrictions.
