Tbilisi: The Health Ministry of Georgia has clarified that all the beneficiaries of the state-owned diabetes management program are provided with insulin and rumors that there is no stock of the drug in the country are not true.
“We declare with full responsibility that the pharmaceuticals under the State Program for Diabetes Management are uninterruptedly supplied to the beneficiaries and no patient is without insulin“, read the statement from the Health Ministry of Georgia.
Also, it is not true that there were no tenders for the procurement of diabetes medication. To inform the public that contracts have been signed with insulin companies and the stock is systematically replenished.
The Beneficiaries have the opportunity to receive the necessary amount of this treatment. TheCorresponding statement (Decision N609) of the Government of Georgia on the Approval of State Health Care Programs for 2023 does not foresee the issuance of three months supplies.
