The health ministry of the Republic of Georgia is planning to evaluate the services quality being offered by the hospital across the country. The evaluation aims to ensure the safety of patients.
It is to be specifically mentioned that for quality assessment, along with other indicators, rehospitalization, and many other indicators will also be taken into account to upgrade the standard of health services in future.
It is to be added that work on the indicators of quality assessment of hospital services is underway with the participation of experts from the World Health Organization. Risk factors such as age, sex, accompanying diseases, and so on will be taken into account in the process.
As per the representative of the health ministry the services that are being offered by the hospitals of the Georgian hospitals will be upgraded as per international standards.
Moreover the Ministry of Health will publish the draft of the assessment indicators at the end of March, which will define the methodology, calculation rule, and sources. Representatives of the sector will also participate in the work process to make the health services more smooth and relevant.
This instrument will be used at a later stage for selecting and contracting of clinics included in the Universal Health Program. Notably, the National Health Strategy of Georgia for 2022-2030 provides for the definition, implementation, data collection, analysis, and use of hospital service quality assessment indicators to improve and make decisions for the welfare of the general public.
A spokesperson of the ministry provided information in this regard. She said that more information will be provided in the coming days regarding the new development if any regarding this.
She also said that the government of Georgia is always committed to providing world-class health services to the general public. She specifically said that there will be no dearth of financial aid for the various programs of the health ministry and that more programs will be implemented for affordable health services.
On the other hand the citizens also expressed their happiness over the new initiative being done by the ministry. People also said that they are thankful to the local administration as well as the central government for world-class health services to all and everyone.
