NGO HEAD held a workshop on child psychology

Kutaisi: A city-based NGO (Non-Government organization) namely HEAD (Habitat for Equity Achievement and Development), held a workshop on child psychology at the Mego Bar  a special space for the children and parents living in Zugdidi Municipality.

On this occasion, child and adolescent psychodiagnostic Zanda Chechelashvili addressed the attendees and spoke about “stages of child development” and the role of parents during each stage.

The representative of the NGO HEAD stated, “We were given the opportunity to hold a meeting within the framework of the project Rights-based and needs-oriented therapeutic services for children with special needs, which is being financed by the Embassy of the Republic of Lithuania in Georgia from the Lithuanian Development Cooperation Program Fund. The project is implemented by Habitat for Equity Achievement and Development (HEAD) in Georgia.”

There was also a specific presentation for the attendees on the big electronic screen installed in the meeting hall. The presentation explains every aspect of child psychology as well.  The key speakers of the occasion further added that in the present digitally connected world  the interaction between parents and children has decreased  which is proving to be detrimental to mental and  to some extent  physical health.

They also advised the parents to understand their children’s psychological needs so that they could explore their hidden potential in their respective fields. The attendees while sharing their views expressed concern about the incidents of physical violence against the children. They further demanded that maximum efforts must be taken to safeguard the children’s interests nationwide.

The need for a rigid law against child explosion was also discussed during the workshop. It is also worth to mention that at the end of the meeting, the listeners  asked many  questions and receive competent answers from the experts on the spot. Most of the parents were concerned about the intolerance among the children and how to handle it effectively.
