In the Palace of Arts, supported by the Ministry of Culture, the museum opened an exhibition of historical exhibits and Western European art pieces purchased from private collections and galleries in Europe and Georgia.

The Minister of Saunje Culture, who returned to Georgia, Tinatin Rukhadze, visited President Mikheil Kavelashvili’s wife, Tamar Bagrationi, and the Director of the Palace of Arts, Giorgi Kalandia.
The works that were taken from Georgia and sold abroad during the Soviet occupation of 1921 were returned to the museum in 2025 on the initiative of the Minister of Culture of Georgia, Tinatin Rukhadze.
The exhibition presents paintings of different genres of Western European art created in Italy, France, and the Netherlands in the XV-XIX centuries; manuscripts of Napoleon I, Alexander Dumas, and Joahim Murat, and a unique Georgian manuscript of the XVIII century – “Iambikon and Ikosni of the Holy Virgin”, also, BC. Ancient 4th-century Scyphos (wine vessel).
“The team of the Palace of Arts has worked very hard to bring these most important works back to Georgia. They would certainly decorate the world’s biggest galleries and museums, so I congratulate our country on this great success.
The Ministry of Culture will continue to support such projects in the future actively,” Tinatin Rukhadze said.
The exhibition was also visited by First Deputy Minister of Culture Maka Gurgenidze, Deputy Speaker of Parliament Nino Tsilosan, Chairman of Parliament’s Culture Committee Giorgi Gabunia, and members of the legislative body.
