Tbilisi: The Ministry of Internally Displaced People of Georgia hosted a detailed meeting with the members of various organizations from occupied territories.
The meeting was held to discuss the multiple challenges faced by people in these areas and different measures to overcome them.
The Ministry of Internally Displaced Territories has taken to social media to inform the public about this significant development. A ministry representative also shared glimpses of the event on the ministry’s official Facebook page.
The Ministry officials said after the meeting, “This was a very important meeting. We have invited all the members of various groups from occupied territories. The representatives of all these groups have shared their concerns and we have assured them that we will provide every possible assistance to make the lives of citizens easy and affordable.”
On the sidelines of this meeting the health minister’s deputies held another meeting with the community organizations of the elderly and disabled. Irine Tsakadze and Giorgi Pataridze introduced the Ministry’s plans to the health services providers to improve the services for the beneficiaries.
At the same time they also discussed needs and challenges. It was noted that the Ministry is working on the revision of the budget to improve the quality of services and underlined that the measures to develop close cooperation with the sector will continue. All parties emphasized the issue of the beneficiaries’ security.
At the meeting it was noted that one of the Ministry’s priorities is to protect the rights of the elderly and people with disabilities and provide them with opportunities for a decent life. To achieve this goal, it is important to actively engage both the state and private and non-governmental organizations working in the sector.
Various organizations and service providers are working for the welfare of people in the region. Meanwhile the Ministry of Internally Displaced People officials assured all attendees that there would be no shortage of funds for the successful execution of development works.
