The International Competition of Tbilisi Vocalists III “OPERA CROWN” was opened in Tbilisi Opera and Ballet Theater with the support of the Ministry of Culture of Georgia.Â
The Georgian Minister of Culture, Sports and Youth, Thea Tsulukiani, attended the event.

Also, the orchestra and the Tbilisi Opera and Ballet State Theater, conductor Zaza Azmaiparashvili, and chorus: Avt Andil Chkhenkel. Famous opera arias and duets were performed in the evening.
The Third International Competition of Tbilisi Vocalists will be held on November 20-25 at the Tbilisi Opera and Ballet Theater; 43 young singers from 20 countries will perform in front of an international jury.
The competition consists of three rounds. The first round of the competition will be held on November 21-22, the second round – on November 23, and the final round – III, the awarding of the laureates and the formal closing of the competition will occur on November 25, at 18:00.Â
The finalists will be presented to the audience, accompanied by the Tbilisi Opera, Ballet Theater Orchestra, and conductor Zaza Azmaiparashvili. The contestants will be evaluated by a jury of the heads of the world’s leading opera theatres and agencies.
The International competition of Tbilisi vocalists “OPERA CROWN” was founded in May 2018. The contest is held once every two years and is a good way for competitors to showcase their abilities.
Opera singers at the beginning of their professional careers can participate in the competition.
Therefore, the competition aims to identify talented young singers and promote their professional advancement after a selection of auditions, which are held based on applications and video recordings sent by the applicants to the contest.
The Supporters of the competition are the Georgian Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, Tbilisi City Hall, the National Tourism Administration and others.
