Georgia: Joseph Bagaturia attended the event dedicated to the anniversary of Emzar Zenaishvili on Tuesday. He was Secretary General of the National Olympic Committee of Georgia.
An event dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Secretary General of the National Olympic Committee of Georgia, Emzar Zenaishvili, was held in “Courtyard Marriott”. The Acting Minister of Culture and Sports of Georgia, Joseph Bagaturia, attended the event, congratulating Emzar Zenaishvili on his anniversary and thanked him for contributing to developing Georgian sports.
Members of the Olympic Committee Agmaskom, colleagues of Emzar Zenaishvili, friends, and veteran athletes attended the anniversary event. Notably, the presentation of Emzar Zenaishvili’s autobiographical book was also held in the evening.
Emzar Zenaishvili has made a significant contribution to the development of Georgian sports. He is a member of the initiative group of the National Olympic Committee of Georgia and the unchangeable General Secretary.
He was the head of the Georgian Olympic delegation at several Summer and Winter Olympics, International Olympic Committee sessions, and congresses. He was selected at various times by the leading bodies of Georgian tennis, handball, chess, football federations, and sports journalists associations.
Emzar Zenaishvili is a member of the International Association of Sports Journalists and the author and editor of several books. In 1999, he was awarded the Medal of Honor for establishing the National Olympic Committee of Georgia for his outstanding contribution to developing Olympic sports, spreading the ideas of the Olympics, and fruitful public activities.
