In Khashuri, a large-scale project of rehabilitation of water supply and sewerage systems is actively underway. In order to monitor the progress of work and resolve issues arising in the process, work meetings are held regularly in the municipality.
The Khashuri Municipality City Hall shared the glimpses of the meetings held, on its official Facebook Page on January 8, 2026, Thursday. The Municipality Hall also shared a small note about the meetings along with their highlights.
According to the note shared by the City Hall of Khashuri Municipality, it should be noted that the Mayor, Paata Chaduneli, Deputy Mayor Giorgi Papiashvili, and Head of Infrastructure Development Service Vepkia Bliadze, the United Water Supply Company of Georgia, Department of Roads, and the International tender contractor of Turkish Company – “JV of YDA Insaat Sanayi Ve Ticaret Anonim Sirketi & Ardem Yapi Gayrimenkul Insaat Taahut Akar. Mad. Tic. A.S – met with the representatives.
The meeting discussed important issues arising in the project implementation process, including the addition of subscribers, coordination of road rehabilitation works, and other technical details, which serve to maximize the interests of the population and the effective implementation of the project.
At this stage, the water supply and sewerage systems in the city of Khashuri are outdated, which creates daily difficulties for the local population. The population is provided with water for only a few hours during the day and night.
After completion of the project, about 30 000 residents of Khashuri will benefit from a 24-hour water supply and modern standards of water infrastructure.
The project of rehabilitation of water supply and sewerage systems in Khashuri is being implemented with the financial support of the French Agency for International Development (AFD).
It is worth noting that the municipality is planning a step-by-step rehabilitation of the city streets in parallel with this project.
