Tengiz Chitiashvili, the mayor of Khasuri city of Georgia has visited United States of America. He attended inauguration ceremony of new president of USA, Donald John Trump there.
The picture of mayor at this impressive inauguration event was shared on social media handles of Municipality also. The official Facebook page shared glimpse of this visit along with details on strong bilateral relation between both countries.
As per the official Facebook page of Khashuri Municipality, “Khashuri Mayor Tengiz Chitiashvili attended the inauguration ceremony of the 47th President of the United States, Donald Trump, on January 20, 2025. The inauguration, which took place at the Capitol Building in Washington, D.C., is an important political event both at the American and international levels.”
In addition official Facebook of municipality stated, “According to the mayor, the event was a moment of great recognition, as it was one of the most important moments in American democracy, after which the country’s leader changed. The mayor of Khashuri believes that such visits and international relations will further deepen the friendly ties between Georgia and the United States and contribute to the development of local governance.”
It is worth to note that both countries shared strong bilateral relations since Georgia got separated from former USSR. The Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR) was dissolved in 1992 after a long cold was between USSR and western countries led by United States of America.
While declaring itself republic Georgia also declare its freedom from Russian influence. On the other hand, opposition party of Georgia once again are criticizing ruling party Georgian Dream for allowing unnecessary interference of Russia in internal matter of Georgia.
As per stand of these political parties this unnecessary interference of Georgia in internal matter of Georgia will damage Georgia relation with European and Western countries.
it is also worth to note that the Georgia’s President also called on new Georgian administration of USA under Donald John Trump for extending support to Georgia.
