Kutaisi, Georgia: Within the framework of the competition procedure for the architectural concept of the multifunctional complex in Kutaisi, an additional working meeting was held to select the architectural concept of the Kutaisi Sports Palace.
It is worth noting that the meeting was held with the representatives of 9 architectural bureaus participating in the competition.
The Municipal Development Fund of Georgia shared the glimpses of the working meeting on its official Facebook Page on November 16, 2025, Sunday. The Development Fund also shared information about the meeting, including its highlights.
During the discussion, the meeting highlighted the importance of creating a modern, energy-efficient, and community-oriented sports complex that meets international standards of sports infrastructure in Kutaisi.
The meeting was attended by
- Minister of Infrastructure Revaz Sokhadze,
- Executive Director of the Municipal Development Fund, Beka Urushadze, Deputy Minister of Infrastructure,
- Representatives of the Georgian Parliament,
- Ministries of Culture and Sport,
- State Trustee of Imereti,
- Mayor of Kutaisi,
- Commission members from the Municipal Development Fund and artists.
The meeting aimed to discuss the project proposals presented in the competition for the architectural concept of the multifunctional complex and obtain additional information, which is important for the final decision of the competition committee.
Presentations of architectural concepts were presented and additional questions were answered by representatives of “New City Development”, “Tbilcityproject, “Demark”, “New Ark Studio”, “Tumashi”, “Artsturio-project”, “NS Studio”, and “Timm Architect”.
The committee members’ questions addressed the general area and volume parameters of the project site, architectural and functional solutions, the materials used, the engineering systems planned, and the estimated cost of the works and construction technologies.
After the review and analysis of additional information received, the Competition Commission will continue the evaluation procedures in accordance with the rules.
