Georgia: Kutaisi University has expanded its international partnerships by establishing a new Erasmus+ collaboration with the Open University of Cyprus (OUC), now an official International Credit Mobility (ICM) partner.
The partnership will not only allow the academic staff of Kutaisi University to participate in short-term study mobility in the direction of Cyprus Open University during the 2024-2025 academic year, but also provide them with unique and exciting learning and research opportunities. These opportunities, coupled with exposure to different academic environments and the chance to broaden their professional network, will undoubtedly enhance their educational and professional growth and contribute to the internationalization of our university.
OUC requested Kutaisi University nominate a candidate for this opportunity. The selection process involved thoroughly reviewing the candidates’ qualifications and potential to contribute to the collaboration.
This led to the selection of Mirza Khidasheli, PhD, as a professor at the Faculty of Social Sciences, Business, and Law. His candidacy has been submitted to OUC, with final approval pending from their Academic Coordinators. This nomination marks the start of a significant new ICM collaboration between the two institutions.
Upon approval, the exchange program will begin, backed by secured Erasmus+ funding. This significant financial support not only provides a secure foundation for the program but also instills confidence in its success. Based on the agreement, they have plans for continued cooperation, ensuring a successful and fruitful partnership.
This partnership with OUC is about academic mobility and fostering deeper ties between our institutions. It’s a step towards enriching both universities’ academic environments and creating a brighter future for our academic community. They want to express their gratitude for the candidates’ active participation and contributions, which are not just important but integral to the success of this partnership. Their involvement is highly valued, and they look forward to their active engagement.
