Georgia: The Pupil Conference in Mathematics dedicated to the International Day of Mathematics “UNIKUM 2025” will be held on March 14, 2025, Friday, at noon in the conference hall of Kutaisi University. It should be noted that this pupil conference will be organized by Kutaisi University.
The students of grades IX-XII of public and private schools in Georgia can participate in the conference. Those who wish to participate in the conference must submit their conference work by March 1 at the following e-mail address: conference@math.org.ge
The topic of the papers presented at the conference is not limited to mathematics; the topic of the paper should go beyond the material provided for by the school mathematics program, but not so much that it does not correspond to the age of the student. During the evaluation, research papers will be especially encouraged, in which the authors propose a non-standard solution to an example, method, or idea given in the mathematical literature. Attention will be paid to how creatively the author uses supporting literature and demonstrates the skills necessary for cognitive activity. The submitted paper should clearly state:
- Problem statement (review of the literature on the selected issue);
- Purpose of the paper;
- Description of the mathematical method(s) and technique(s) used in the paper;
- Solution to the problem posed (by showing practical examples);
- Conclusion (analysis of the results);
- References.
Notably, the volume of the paper should not exceed 5 pages.
The papers will be evaluated by a scientific committee selected from the academic staff of Kutaisi University. The results will be published no later than March 10. All participants who receive a positive evaluation will be invited to a summary session at Kutaisi University, where only a few selected topics will be presented in the form of a presentation.
The participants with the highest scores will be considered to have won the first, second, and third prizes, respectively. The students who won the prize will be awarded diplomas and memorable gifts. Also, letters of gratitude will be received by the head teachers of the winning students and school administrations. Participants who receive a positive assessment will be awarded certificates.
