Landslide prevention measures are being carried out on Yunkerta Street in Kojori township, where the roadway was damaged due to the landslide.
For the sake of safety at the mentioned address, motor traffic was restricted on the road section, and a study was conducted by specialists, according to which preventive works were started.
Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze got acquainted with the ongoing works together with Deputy Mayor Irakli Bendeliani.
“A certain part of the road connecting Tskneti-Kojori has demolished about a month ago – the foundation was removed, and it was a problem for the movement. This time, rehabilitation works are actively underway. From today it is already possible to move on one section of the road. We have been observing for so long, certain works have been carried out, and the section of the road that will be opened will be safe. At the same time, the works are going on, and at the end of August, in September, before the school starts, this particular section of the road will be completely restored and put in order,” said Kakha Kaladze.
At the moment, the arrangement of vertical anchors in the area has been completed, and the foundation of the protective wall is in progress, after which the construction of the reinforced concrete wall will be carried out. After the completion of the works, road traffic will be fully restored, and movement in the mentioned road section will become safe.
The ongoing landslide prevention works on the Kojori road, the total cost of which is 536,030 GEL, are being carried out by the Infrastructure Development City Service of the City Hall.
Along with the capital’s mayor, Levan Naroushvili, the head of Tbilisi City Hall’s infrastructure development department, Davit Kirkitadze, the governor of Mtatsminda, as well as district majority deputies – Zurab Abashidze and Beka Odisharia were present.Â
