Tbilisi: Finance Minister Lasha Khutsishvili met with the Regional Director of the International Financial Corporation (IFC) in Europe, Rana Karadshe. Issues of cooperation between Georgia and the International Financial Corporation were discussed by the Minister of Finance, Lasha Khutsishvili and the Regional Director of the International Financial Corporation (IFC) in Europe, Rana Karadshe.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Finance Minister Ekaterine Guntsadze and Mirza Gelashvili, IFC Regional Manager in South Caucasus Ivana Fernandez Duarte and IFC representative in Georgia Tea Gigiberia.
The conversation was about the progress of projects supported by the International Financial Corporation in Georgia. Also, capital market development issues, lending to small and medium businesses and opportunities to increase investment potential in the sector.
The meeting emphasized economic growth trends in Georgia. As noted, in the three quarters of 2022, the country’s economic growth was 10.2 per cent. The Minister of Finance introduced the agenda of government reforms to the guest.
The regional director of the International Financial Corporation expressed his readiness to continue the partnership with the Georgian side more actively in the future for the development of the public and private sectors.

Discussion touched upon the implementation of projects supported by the IFC in Georgia, as well as the capital market development, lending to small and medium enterprises (SME) and increased investment prospects in the referred sector.
Trends of economic growth in Georgia were highlighted at the meeting. As noted, the economic growth indicator reached 10.2% in the first 9 months of the current year. The Minister of Finance of Georgia shared information with the visiting officials on the reform agenda of the Government of Georgia (GOG).
Regional Director of the IFC expressed readiness to further continue partnership in an active manner for the development and advancement of public and private sectors of the country.
