Mtirala National Park held a lecture to make the general public  and  youth of area aware of the importance of waste management. The young school students from the locality  who are also members of the eco-club Equilibrium also cleaned the area.

The park administration held the lecture on September 27. It was part of the international environmental activity “Clean up the world!” week. The employees of the National Park administration gave a lecture on waste management to the members of the eco-club Equilibrium. They gathered at the public school of the village of Chaisubani.

The attendees of the event also participated in the poster-making process. Here students prepared posters based on the theme of waste management. After the meeting, the participants cleaned the school yard and the surrounding area as part of the cleaning campaign as well.

It is worth noting that the park administration used to organise such campaigns. They also invited the schoolteacher for training. The teachers are trained to provide information to schoolchildren on waste management and other climate-related issues. Climate change is the biggest problem.

The representatives and officials of the national park also gave presentations at the lecture. They  provided  information on different aspects, ranging from climate change to waste management to different types of pollution.

The participants collected garbage and waste material that can damage surrounding areas. The experts of the national park urged these members to play an active role in protecting the environment. They were also told how they could participate in various government programs and initiatives aimed at protecting the country’s flora and fauna.

In the end  the club members also shared their views. They thanked the park administration for such a helpful lecture. Some club members also demanded such an event in the future. The park administration shared the information on various social media platforms  and social media users lauded the club’s initiative in this direction.
