Tbilisi; Brussels: Georgian Vice Prime Minister and the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Levan Davitashvili met the Eurocontrol General Director, Emon Brennan during his working visit in Brussels. The parties discussed the development of existing and future relations between Georgia and the organization in civil aviation.Â
As Vice Prime Minister noted, from next year, Georgia will become the chairman country of Eurocontrol and therefore, it is very important to discuss specific issues with our partners – the leadership of Eurocontrol.
“Our institutional integration into European structures is very important for the process of integration with Europe, including Georgia’s participation in European control is very important for Georgian aviation development.”
Restoration of Georgian aviation is intensively underway and is forecasted from 2023, in which international partners agree that it will fully recover in relation to 2019 and continue to develop in accordance with European high standards.
 “In order to make the market competitive, stable and to make a very important contribution to our economy in the future,” said the Vice Prime Minister of Georgia.
Emergency and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Georgia to the Kingdom of Belgium and Grand Duchess of Luxembourg Vakhtang Makharoblishvili took part in the meeting with the Director General of Eurocontrol.
Eurocontrol is an international aviation organization working in the direction of ensuring safe and uninterrupted air traffic throughout Europe. Georgia became a member of the organization in 2014.
