Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the President of Ukraine have revealed plan of his government to impose restriction against the ruling party of Georgia, Georgian Dream. The statement of Ukrainian President came amid ongoing protests in Tbilisi.
The Protesters are already protesting the move of Georgian Government to suspend country progress towards European Union integration. They have blaming Georgian Dream for allowing undue Russian influence on foreign policy of Georgia.
While revealing his plan in this direction President said that this move is being proposed to put pressure on Georgia. The Georgian Dream is not resisting Russian influence on Georgia foreign policy.
However, if ruling party do not take immediate steps in this direction it may affect the Georgia’s bilateral relation with other countries especially which are member countries of Europe.
Speaking further on this point he added that this is totally wrong to say that we will not react if Russia continue its interference in Georgia. He also added that this Russian growing influence on Georgia is not the problem of only one country. However, we can call it a regional issues which need immediate attention of stakeholders.
While condemning this trend he underlined, what Georgian Dream is doing with their own people of Georgia is sad. When Russian government praise Georgian government we can clearly understand for whom Georgian government is working in Tbilisi.
This is also understandable why Georgian Dream led government is taking strict action against the protesters in Tbilisi.
Ukrainian President also announced that we are planning a legal response, We are working in coordination with the European counties and other national to find a concrete solution as well.
Since the protests are being held in capital city Tbilisi outside Parliament buildings many Western and European countries have reacted sharply against the decision of Georgian government.
On the other many countries also proposed to review their ties with Georgia. These all steps are being taken make Georgia accountable for such unilateral acts. Most countries are blaming the Georgia that this decision was taken under influence of Russia to weaken the Europa Union.
