Rustavi, Georgia:Â The mayor of Rustavi, Nino Latsabidze, held a presentation about projects and programs to be implemented in 2024, together with City Hall employees.
The event was attended by the State Commissioner Giorgi Dokhturishvili, Majoritarian MP of Rustavi and Gardabani ten communities, Irakli Shatakishvili and Member of the Parliament of Georgia, Alexander Dalakishvili.
In recent years, in Rustavi, large-scale projects have been implemented in different directions. In this regard, 2024 will not be an exception. This year, the initial budget has been increased by 25 million GEL, and new social programs and essential infrastructure projects will be implemented, which will help to improve the quality of life of the local population in the city.
A large-scale project of complete rehabilitation of Tashkent Street is already underway; new road infrastructure is being assembled on Khandzteli Street, construction of an authentic new building of the Old Pupil-Youth Palace is actively underway; complete rehabilitation of the area around the city’s central bridge, the second phase of Rustaveli Street restoration is in the final phase.
In 2024, in Rustavi, the budget for furnishing residential buildings has increased by 54 per cent, and in this direction, the first stage of work will begin by the end of February. Municipal services reform continues focusing on helping people with disabilities, adding new programs to 81 social services.
Within the framework of the transport sector reform, 20 new buses have been added to the municipal road, which already runs on the Rustavi-Tbilisi route, and the budget for city maintenance has been increased. The promotion of youth programs and education remains a priority. It is planned to set up a modern children’s media and Rustavi technological academy; there is news in the field of culture and sports development.
In 2024, environmental protection and atmospheric air improvement will again be a priority for Rustavi City Hall. This year, the works planned for the first stage of the Rustavi Chali forest development strategy will begin. Rustavi’s budget for 2024 at this stage is 121 983 700 GEL.
The presentation about the projects and programs planned for this year was attended by representatives of Rustavi City Council’s “Georgian Dream” and all the services of the City Hall, along with the trustee, mayor, and members of the Parliament.
