Tbilisi: Milheil Sarrveladze, the Health Minister of Georgia held a productive meeting with Anahit Avanesian. Anahit Avanesian is the health minister of Armenia who is currently on an official visit to Georgia.
It is to be added that during the bilateral meetingv both sides discussed joint projects and agreed on issues of further deepening the partnershipv with a special focus on health services. Moreover  the conversation touched on the current and planned reforms in the field of healthcare in Armenia and Georgia and the importance of sharing experiences in this direction that can be helpful for the betterment of health infrastructure.
Mikheil Sarjveladze also informed the members of the visiting Armenian delegation about the significant progress made in improving access to healthcare services in Georgia during the meeting. The Georgian health minister noted that the sharing of experience between the countries could contribute to the further development of the patient-oriented system in both countries in the near future.
It should be mentioned specifically that the visit of the Armenian Minister of Health to Georgia was preceded by a meeting between Mikheil Sarjveladze and Anahit Avanesian held in Geneva. The meeting was held within the framework of the World Health Assembly  during which they discussed the future perspectives of an even closer partnership among the two major nations of the south Caucasus region.
Other dignitaries who attended this meeting included deputy Ministers Tamar Gabunia and Thea Giorgadze and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Armenia to Georgia Ashot Smbatian.
The Armenian delegation led by the Health Minister  also includes Stepan Atoyan  Director General of the National Center for Disease Control and Prevention of Armenia, Narek Manukyan  Director of the National Oncology Center, Arayik Baghrian  Director of the Medicines and Medical Technologies Expertise Center, Armen Melkonyan Head of the Department of International Relations  and some other members.
Discussions also took place to improve the basic health infrastructure in rural areas to ensure the easy accessibility of health services in rural areas. The Armenian minister expressed his gratitude for the warm hospitality and hopes that bilateral relations between the two countries will reach new heights.
