The Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure Irakli Karseladze, together with the Ambassador of Italy to Georgia Enrico Valvo, opened the annual event dedicated to the promotion of Italian architecture and design “Italian Design Days in Georgia -2022”.
“It is important that the celebration of Italian Architecture and Design Days in Georgia continued. At last year’s event, we explored excellent examples of a balanced approach and creative solutions to unite the past and present in architecture. I’m glad to see so many people involved in our projects here today. Among them, I would like to express my gratitude to the Italian specialists who, in cooperation with a Georgian company, have developed an interesting concept for the development of the resort Tskaltubo and continue to work on a detailed city development plan. We have high expectations and, most importantly, this is a good example for the architects of the two countries to continue and deepen cooperation, “- said Irakli Karseladze.
The Minister also spoke about the ongoing projects in the field of urban development in Georgia. Among them, he mentioned the ongoing projects throughout the country within the framework of the “Renewed Regions” program, the urban renewal works in the central part of the historic village in Velistsikhe and the planned Lagham district restoration project in Svaneti.
The Minister thanked the Ambassador of Italy to Georgia for making Enrico Valvo an interesting event in Georgia and for promoting multifaceted cooperation between the two countries.
Within the framework of the Italian Design Days, on May 31, a workshop with the participation of Georgian and Italian specialists will be held, which aims to strengthen the relations between companies and experts working in the field of architecture and design in the two countries.
Representatives of the University of Florence, the Municipal Development Fund, the Georgian Academy of Arts and the Tbilisi Association of Architects will take part in the workshop.
