Tbilisi, Georgia: The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia Maka Bochorishvili met with the Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan Faig Guliev in Georgia on January 11, 2025, Saturday.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia posted about this on its official Facebook page. It shared glimpses of the meeting with a short note about the meeting.

According to the ministry’s post, the bilateral agenda’s real issues were addressed during the meeting. In this context, the conversation also touched upon the details of the planned official visit of the Minister of Foreign Affairs to the Republic of Azerbaijan.

The meeting also discussed the issue of holding the 10th meeting of the Intergovernmental Economic Cooperation Commission between Georgia and the Republic of Azerbaijan planned in Baku.

The meeting discussion touched upon cooperation in the areas envisaged by the Georgia-Azerbaijan Strategic Partnership Agreement and the positive dynamics of the development of trade and economic ties.

At the same time, both sides also stressed that they need to implement more measures for a more stable and stronger relationship in the future. The Azerbaijan Ambassador in this meeting also extended his best wishes for another term of Georgian Dream in the October 26 elections held last year.

The Ministry noted, “Bochorishvili once again positively assessed that countries are far from a wide range of strategic partnerships. Special attention was paid to successful cooperation in the trade-economic, transport, and energy spheres.”

The parties discussed Georgia’s economic growth and macro-fiscal indicators, reviewed bilateral cooperation issues in trade-economic areas, and expressed their willingness to continue the partnership between the two countries, which will contribute to further activating the cooperation between Azerbaijan and Georgian business companies.

The meeting acknowledged the importance of the region’s peaceful and stable development. The parties expressed their readiness to make the useful strategic cooperation between Georgia and Azerbaijan even more dynamic.
