Minister of Culture visits Ozurgeti, Baghdati and Vani school

The Georgian Minister of Culture, Sports and Youth, Thea Tsulukiani, continues to visit Salotbaro schools. Thea Tsulukiani visited the Ozurgeti, Baghdati and Van folklore schools of Anzor Erkomaishvili State Center.

The Georgian Minister of Culture, Sports and Youth, Thea Tsulukiani, continues to visit Salotbaro schools. Thea Tsulukiani visited the Ozurgeti, Baghdati and Van folklore schools of Anzor Erkomaishvili State Center.

The director of the State Folklore Center, Giorgi Donadze, and Deputy Director, Giorgi Gabunia, were also present at Salotbaro Schools with the Minister.

Thea Tsulukiani met with Giorgi Donadze and Giorgi Gabunia pupils, teachers and representatives of Ozurgeti, Baghdati and Vani Salotbaro schools.

The Minister of Culture, Thea Tsulukiani, got acquainted with the pupils’ work. Also, during the visit, the Minister heard about the schools’ needs and discussed future development plans for the Salotbar schools with the attending communities.

Thea Tsulukiani thanked the school representatives for their hard work promoting and developing Georgian pluralism and wished the students success.

The Ozurgeti Salotbaro School was opened in 2015. Currently, 80 students are enrolled. Teachers of Ozurgeti Salotbar School are: Main Salotbar – Lasha Chkhartishvili, Lotbar – Natia Gordeladze, Lotbar – Mamuka Siradze, Regent – Vasil Tsetskhladze, Solfeggio – Marina Dzvelaia, Plugs – Mamia Rusidze.

The Baghdati Salotbaro School was opened in 2016. Currently, 16 students are enrolled there. The teachers of the school are Lotbar-Levan Gersamia and Regent-Zura Gogoladze.

Vani Salotbaro School was opened in 2022; there are currently 30 students. The teachers of Vani Salotbar School are Lotbar-Pavle Ramishvili and Regent Shota Ramishvili.

The Georgian scholar Anzor Erkomaishvili, laid the foundation for the creation of salotbaro schools. With the support of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth of Georgia and the leadership of Anzor Erkomaishvili State Folklore Center in Georgia, today, 30 salotbaro schools are functioning, where it is possible to learn Georgian multivocal songs and instrument playing for free.

Promoting the development of Georgian folklore is one of the priorities for the Ministry of Culture. It is planned to visit all Georgian salutatorian schools until the end of 2023.

The Georgian Minister of Culture, Thea Tsulukiani, has already visited the schools of Mestia, Lentekhi, Ambrolauri, Oni, Zestafoni, Khoni, Borjomi, Akhaltsikhe, Dusheti, Samtredia, Kaspi, Kareli, Gori, Kvarli and Telavi.
