Minister Sarjveladze meets home care teams in Imereti

Imereti Region, Georgia: Mikheil Sarjveladze, Minister of Refugees, Labor, Health, and Social Protection from the Occupied Territories, met with representatives of the home care program, doctors, and social workers in the Imereti region.

The Ministry of Internally Displaced Persons, Labor, Health, and Social Welfare shared the glimpses of the meeting on its official Facebook Page on August 18, 2025. The Georgian Ministry also shared some information about the productive meeting, along with its glimpses.

It is worth noting that the program’s progress, already achieved results, and the possibilities for its further development were discussed at the meeting.

The home care program aims to improve the quality of life for users, promoting their independence in their daily activities. The main objectives of the program are: preventing institutionalization and hospitalization, reducing the likelihood of beneficiaries entering state care, and supporting families.

The service is provided by a multidisciplinary team, including a doctor, nurse, caregiver, and social worker. Also, technical and household assistance is considered.

The Minister thanked the members of the multidisciplinary team for their professional work and their significant contribution to the public good. Mikheil Sarjveladze paid special attention to the importance of their work, which serves to improve the quality of life of beneficiaries and support their families.

In addition, according to the minister, for the successful implementation of such programs, effective cooperation between central and municipal governments is of utmost importance, which will be successfully implemented in the Imereti region.

Service Provider Organizations noted that the program is running successfully, and the quality of life of beneficiaries involved in the program has improved dramatically.

The meeting was attended by Zaza Lominadze, the chairman of the Parliament’s Committee on Health Protection and Social Affairs, State Commissioner Levan Zalkaliani, and his first deputy, Mamuka Khimshiashvili.
