Tea Akhvlediani, the state minister for reconciliation and civil equality held a meeting with the Executive Secretary of the Council of Ethnic Minorities. The executive secretary of the council of national minorities Izabela Osipova and the Council Coordinator Koba Chopliani exchanged their views and opinions.
This council was established under office of public defender to address the issues of minorities effectively. In this meeting both the sides discussed the results achieved and the dynamics of progress within each priority direction of the State Strategy.
This state strategy is being implemented within the framework of the Civil Equality and Integration Policy for upliftment of minorities also. The discussion also touched on the issues of implementation, monitoring and evaluation of action plans to find an effective solution of problems.
It is also to be added that, the state minister in this important meeting introduced the Council representatives to the vision of future activities and spoke about the 2025-2026 vison.
At the same time the draft consolidated action plan was discussed in detail. This draft plan was prepared under the leadership and coordination of the State Minister’s Office.
The draft plan is implemented with close cooperation with the policy-implementing sectoral government agencies and local self-governments. These all initiatives are aimed to gradually improve the target results.
The state minister thanked the representatives of the Council of Ethnic Minorities with the Public Defender for their close and fruitful cooperation. He also emphasized their role in the process of implementing and monitoring the strategy, which serves the effective implementation of the policy.
In turn, the leaders of the Council of Ethnic Minorities expressed their readiness to submit their recommendations regarding the draft action plan to the State Minister’s Office.
The Civil Equality and Integration Strategy 2021-2030 along with the draft Action Plan of the State Strategy for 2025-2026 will be available for submission of proposals and opinions. This will be available in the near future on the official website of the Office of the State Minister for Reconciliation and Civil Equality.
