Georgia: The Minister of culture, sports and youth of Georgia Thea Tsulukiani, got acquainted with the rehabilitation process of the old film studio on David Agmashenebeli Avenue. The rehabilation work is about to end soon.
A complete rehabilitation of the administrative building is underway with the funds of the Ministry of Culture: a new roof has been made, the facade has been restored, a large-scale reinforcement of the attractive structures has been carried out, the second floor has been started and the office space for the National Cinema Center will be completed in September, a complete restoration and renovation of the interior.
The two-storey building was fully rehabilitated and an apartment was built in the field of cinema by casting company, photography workshop, metojinebi and traditional blue table show room, two mosaic panels were removed from Rustavi Autodrome in order to save them and they were placed in the territory of the old film studio, a new exhibition space was set up, which was handed over to the Academy of Art under the management, a Seve, the fence has been renewed.
Construction of a new building on the site of a former wood quarry began in 2023 and will be completed in 2024 which will be a multifunctional art space with a cinema hall and exhibition spaces for 100 viewers. During the works, two brick laying tunnels were discovered underground here, which also became part of the project.
The dismantling of the later, accidental part of the former multistudio building to save and rehabilitate two historic 1920s cinema pavilions completed in 2024.
It started in 2023 and the complete reinforcement and renovation of the former laboratory building will be completed in 2025.
In 2024 it was started for five theaters and in August of the same year, the facility of the warehouse and the props rooms was finished.
