The Mtskheta-Mtianeti region has taken a significant step towards improving civil amenities with the acquisition of new garbage trucks. This decision, made by the Georgian government, underscores their commitment to enhancing the quality of life for residents.
At the truck delivery event, Nika Tkemaladze, the Head of the Department of Relations with Regions of the Government Administration of Georgia, played a pivotal role. State officials from the regions and representatives from the company GT, who were instrumental in the procurement process, also attended the hand over event.
It is to be added that the Georgian Government has decided to purchase the 82, 10, and 16 cubic “Iveko” garbage trucks for proper garbage disposal in the municipalities. The trucks will be distributed in all the municipalities’ regions as well.   There are forty-nine municipalities in the region that will receive the trucks. Today, two garbage trucks were handed over to Dusheti and one to Tianeti Municipality.
The total amount spent on the truck purchase was thirty-three million GEL, which was arranged through state and central government funding. Nika Tkemaladze, speaking specifically on the occasion, said that the government’s priority is the development of the whole region. The new garbage-picking vehicle will promote municipalities’ waste management and create new jobs for young people.
It is worth noting that the program will not end soon; in fact, new trucks will be purchased to fulfill the needs of municipalities as well.During the tender process, the GT groups won the bid and have already brought forty-eight new trucks. The process will continue in the future, and more equipment will be purchased to fulfill the basic requirements of municipalities across the region.
The newly brought trucks have been manufactured according to international standards and are equipped with Euro 5 Emiss standard engines. Dump trucks are designed for tasks according to different performances and different terrains, including heavy-duty 4X4 trucks, which are designed for highland areas where harsh climatic conditions require the use of such trucks to operate in all seasons and all climates.
