Multiple rehabilitation projects begin in Kutaisi

Kutaisi, Georgia: As part of the capital transfer framework, multiple rehabilitation projects have been initiated in Kutaisi. It is important to note that the Kutaisi State Budget, which has been set aside for disaster management in 2025, will be used to fund these projects.

It is to be specifically mentioned that the total amount that was reserved for disaster management in 2025 is 22,000,000 GEL. The rehabilitation works have been started in Kutasi.

Together with Georgian Member of Parliament Zaza Lominadze and State Trustee Levan Zalkaliani, Kutaisi Mayor David Eremeishvili visited the restoration sites on Wednesday. Additionally, the ministers inspected the status of projects in Imereti.

The Kutaisi Mayor, David Eremeishvili also shared glimpses of his visit on his Official Facebook page on February 12, 2025. The social media users appreciated the mayor for improving Georgia’s second capital city, Kutaisi.

Along with the photographs, the mayor also shared a small note about the rehabilitation projects that will be carried out in Kutaisi. The Mayor’s note expresses that Kutaisi has the opportunity at this stage.

According to the Mayor’s statement on his social media, it should be noted that the works in this direction are actively underway at several locations, including the rehabilitation of the Oghaskura river bank, as well as the reinforcement of retaining walls on Gafrindashvili Street and road infrastructure.

It is also noteworthy that the reinforcement works have begun on Gafrindashvili Street, where sewage processes have developed. The management and stabilization of geodynamic processes, as well as the condition of maintaining residential houses for the people living in the area, are considered. 13 900 000 GEL will be spent on infrastructure.

It is worth mentioning that the installation of a Gabionic river bank on Automobile Avenue is part of the ongoing rehabilitation project of the Ogaskura River, which is funded by Georgia’s Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure. The project will cost 4,100,000 GEL.
