Brussels: With the support of the Government of Georgia, a Joint Musical performance was held at Antwerp, a city in Belgium under the theme of ” Europe-Georgia”. This Joint performance is an effort aimed at the euro integration of Georgia. Artist from both countries displayed their artistic skills at the event.

It is to be specifically mentioned that at this joint performance audience saw Tamo Nasidze, Macy Woodford and Smila Snake’s musical-choreographic performance on the theme of “Mud Mother.” This joint Event was organised with full and independent support Georgian Ministry of Culture.

Georgian Representative Tamar Tsulukidze attended the historical moment. Notably, Before this event on October 18 and 19, the joint performance was held in Brussels.

The main idea of this particular play, “Mud Mother” was related to the mother phenomenon and its association with humanity. Performers with Dolls, dance and musician Tamo Nasidze’s electronic voice interestingly reflected different aspects of motherhood. Motherhood is defined by different stages like childbirth, feeding and caring for the baby, the mother’s relationship with the new body that comes from her own body, heavy feeling of responsibility towards the newborn, emotional attachment, and physical endurance.

Tamo Nasidze matches polyphonic singing with modern electronic music with his extraordinary talent. Artists working on the project learned about the work process and received professional advice from Leo Gabriadze in Tbilisi, Georgia.

As per the prescheduled plans with the support of the Georgian government and under the aegis of “Europe-Georgia“, from October 4 to February 2024, up to 60 large-scale and varied grand events are being held in Belgium and its neighbouring countries. In these four months, the people of the European community can see two large-scale and historical exhibitions of national treasures namely – “Avant-garde in Georgia – 1900-1936” (Brussel’s Fine Art Center “Bozar”) and another one is “Georgia – Meeting Place” (in the Royal Museum of History and Art, Brussels).

As the European Commission has recommended granting the candidate status of the European Union to the Republic of Georgia, it is seen as a step toward the Georgia’s Integration in EU. These joint cultural events are also a part of the process of exhibiting the shared cultural values of Georgia and the European Union.

Georgia wants to maximise the people-to-people contact for a smooth transition of Georgia in the of family Europen Union in future. Georgia is expecting the positive decision of the EU with regard to the Entry of Georgia Into the European Union. Artists from both countries also thanked the organiser of the event for this joint event.
