The Alliance of Museums continues to actively cooperate with the European Museum Organizations Network (NEMO).
With the support of the Ministry of Culture, an official working group consisting of seven delegates was present at the international conference organized by NEMO, which was named “NEMO European Museum Conference 2023 – and ACTION! Museums in the climate crisis.”
The conference will focus on the impact of the climate crisis on museums and the participation of Europe’s leading cultural institutions.
The group is conducting active negotiations with the NEMO delegation under the conference to broaden future cooperation prospects and share experiences.
In 2023, the Alliance of Museums of Georgia and the Palace of Arts – Museum of History of Culture became official members of the European Museum Organizations Network (NEMO).
The association connects European museums and the professionals working in them. NEMO’s mission is to support cultural institutions advocate, and develop a platform of cooperation between European museums and their related organizations.
One of the largest non-governmental organizations in the country “Alliance of Museums of Georgia”, which unites more than 500 professional museums today, Shalva Amiranashvili State Museum of Art, Georgian Palace of Art – Museum of Culture History, Simon Janashia State of Georgia, Giorgi Chitaia ethnographic, Joseph Grishashvili. It is the state of Tbilisi history museums and Zugdidi walks.
It was founded as a result of the cooperation of the Historical-Architectural Museum.
Alliance of Georgian Museums, in the year 2022 – 2019, held the Assembly of Georgian Museums for the first time in the history of Georgian museums.
On both occasions, Georgian Minister of Culture, Sports and Youth Thea Tsulukiani awarded the best museums of the year with silver chest medals and cash prizes.
Employees from both the Ministry of Culture administration and regional and private museums attended the events.
