Georgia: The Director of the Maritime Transport Agency of Georgia, Ivane Abashidze together with First Deputy Director Malkhaz Gogitidze and Deputy Director Natia Miminoshvili, attended the event dedicated to the start of the 2025-2026 academic year and the farewell of the 2025 graduates.
The beginning of the new school year was congratulated by Sulkhan Tamazashvili, the director of the Georgian Maritime Transport Agency, Ivane Abashidze, the rector of Batumi Maritime Academy, Murtaz Devadze, the chairman of the Supreme Council of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara, David Gabaidze, and Maia Khajishvili, the minister of education and sports of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara.
During the event, the award ceremony for successful graduates, who were given certificates in a ceremonial atmosphere, was also held. The Director of the Georgian Maritime Transport Agency, Ivane Abashidze, gave a speech at the event in which he noted, “It’s a pleasure that on this important day, we meet the new school year together – one more step towards the future.”
He stated, “The start of the academic year 2025-2026 is not just a fresh page on the academic calendar, but also the beginning of a new stage in your professional journey. You, freshmen, are stepping on a path that requires a lot of hard work, constant development, and perseverance. But rest assured, this road will lead you to success with dignity.” “You are our country’s future captains, mechanics, electrical engineers, and leaders of the maritime field, who will strengthen the name of Georgia’s maritime industry in the world, ” he added.
At the same time, they bid farewell to those young people who completed their academic studies with dignity. They are already prepared for the real challenges and responsibilities that a sea and international career demands.
The Minister says that he is confident that the knowledge, passion, and professionalism of the young people will represent the country with dignity in the world maritime space.
Ivane Abashidze gives a special shout-out to the graduates who are receiving their certificates. He said that they are an example of not only their own success, but the entire academy, the country, and generations to come.
The Director of the Georgian Maritime Transport Agency expressed his warm gratitude towards the Chairman of the Government of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara, Sulkhan Tamazashvili, whose constant support in terms of infrastructure development and education funding is very important for the Maritime Academy.
