Dubai: A brand new restaurant offering Georgian dishes has opened in Dubai. This new restaurent has been opened under the name of “Qartuli”.
It is to be specifically mentioned that in the past years, many other restaurants were also offering dishes of Georgian origin. But the newly launched “Qartuli” is distinctively Georgian, both in its creation and its culinary offerings, which have focussed on traditional flavours and homely hospitality of the country of origin
Notably before establishing “Qartuli,” Shevardnadze and her partner started a delivery service in Dubai. They also employed five chefs from Gori. Despite operating with a limited menu, the venture quickly gained popularity among all the people, which led to the expansion and establishment of the restaurant.
Just a week ago, “Qartuli” opened its doors in the heart of Dubai, positioned near iconic landmarks like Burj Khalifa and Dubai Mall. Due to its prime location huge rush is being expected who will taste the original flavor of Georgia.
It is to be added that the restaurant invites guests to savor Georgian home-cooked meals in an ambiance reminiscent of 19th-century Georgia.
Speaking on the occasion Shevardnadze stated “We’ve transported almost everything including vintage dishes from Georgia to ensure that our guests feel transported to a 19th-century Georgian home. Though we’ve only been open a week, the response to our food and decor has been overwhelmingly positive. ‘Qartuli’ really embodies the Georgian spirit,”.
She also added that despite the competitive business environment in Dubai we are hopeful and our focus on a homely concept and delicious cuisine sets them apart.
On the other hand, although Shevardnadze didn’t disclose the initial investment, the success has led to increased staffing, including chefs and cooks from Georgia, despite the diverse nationalities of other staff members.
Looking ahead to expanded business the “Qartuli” aims to expand its unique concept across the United Arab Emirates, Singapore, and several European countries, confident that its distinctive approach to Georgian cuisine will resonate globally and people will like it.
