New Preschools take shape in Kvemo Kartli: Committee tours sites

Kvemo Kartli, Georgia: Kvemo Kartli region held an external meeting under the leadership of the Chairman of the Committee on Education, Science and Youth Affairs, Givi Mikanadze. This meeting was also attended by the State Representative of Kvemo Kartli, Giorgi Dokhturishvili.

Within the framework of the external meeting, the committee members visited kindergartens under construction in Marneuli No. 2, as well as in the villages of Tsereteli and Shulaveri, and got acquainted with the construction process of new preschools. 

Each preschool institution is designed to admit 180 children. Kvemo Kartli also shared the details and glimpses from the meeting and their visits on their official Facebook account on 23 April, 2025, Wednesday.

It is to be noted that the construction projects are being implemented within the framework of the state program “Construction and Rehabilitation of Kindergartens”. Under this, recreational spaces and playgrounds will be arranged in the yards of the kindergartens, which will also be fully adapted for people with disabilities.

During the visits, the deputies spoke with the students and teachers and inspected the school’s infrastructure. Members of the Parliamentary Committee on Education, Science and Youth Affairs also visited the Sulkhan-Saba Orbeliani Public School No. 1 in Bolnisi as part of the field trip.

The school is one of 20 pilot schools, where secondary school students have the opportunity to receive vocational education at school, in parallel with full general education. Students, along with the certificate, will receive a diploma confirming their qualifications.

Members of Parliament, delegate of Marneuli and Gardabani municipalities Zaur Dargali, Mayor of Marneuli municipality Kenan Omarov and Chairman of the Sakrebulo Amiran Giorgadze, were present in Marneuli together with the committee members.

The following members of the committee were present at the Bolnisi school: Member of Parliament, delegate of Bolnisi, Dmanisi, Tetritskaro and Tsalka municipalities Davit Sherazadishvili, Acting Mayor of Bolnisi Municipality Buba Gobejishvili and Chairman of the Sakrebulo Tamaz Zhorzholiani.
