In Isani district, near Cholokashvili street, the construction of outdoor courts on the territory of Isani-Samgori Complex Sports Center was completed.
The project included tournament and training skate courts, 7×7 football and padel courts, as well as a complete reconstruction of two amortized courts in the area. The mayor of Tbilisi, Kakha Kaladze, got acquainted with deputies Irakli Bendeliani and Andrea Basilaya.
“Last year, we built several courts in the area of the Isani-Samgori Complex Center, but the demand was very high, and we planned to utilize the remaining area that the center had to provide various infrastructure.” Padel courts, two open and two indoor tennis courts, have been added to the area, as well as a football field. The lighting system was installed, and the largest skate park in the capital was set up. It’s a very good sports centre, where all the conditions are designed for people of all ages to exercise. In the future, we will pay special attention to the development of sports and the promotion of a healthy lifestyle. I’m glad that many children and young people use this infrastructure,” said Kakha Kaladze.
According to the mayor of the capital, in recent years, a lot of attention has been paid to sports from both the Tbilisi municipality and the central government.
“The results that we have in sport in different directions are not accidental.” So many gold medals, victory, success, of course, everything is in line. The government is doing everything to create proper infrastructure in districts, cities, and the capital so that youth and children can exercise in normal conditions. This is a very important thing. Many good projects have been implemented in Tbilisi, but even more will be done in the future. We want that in every district, in every district, there should be spaces where young people can engage in sports and live a healthy life,” – said the mayor of Tbilisi.
Works were carried out by the Civil Service of Culture, Education, Sports, and Youth Affairs of Tbilisi City Hall. The cost of the project is 6 million GEL.
Along with the mayor of the capital, the head of the civil service of culture, education, sports, and youth affairs, Irakli Gvilava, the head of ISN Akaki Khlabustov, and the representatives of the parliament and the city council inspected the new sports infrastructure.
