Georgia: The National Center for Disease Control (NCDC) and Public Health is deeply saddened by the death of Professor Baadur Mosidze, Medical Director of the University Clinic of High Medical Technologies, one of the most distinguished physicians in the country, Doctor of Medicine.
After graduating from the Tbilisi State Medical Institute, Mr Baadur underwent an internship in surgery at the Sokhumi Republican Hospital and worked as a surgeon-resident. After working at the Gastroenterology Clinic of the Petrov Oncology Research Institute, he successfully defended his candidacy, and dissertation and returned to Georgia.
Mr Baadur worked for years at the Institute of Physician Training as Head of the Department of Surgery and Oncology, Head of the Department of Surgery # 2 of the Medical University, and Director of the Central Republican Hospital, K.C. Director of the Eristavi Institute of Experimental and Clinical Surgery. From 2010 to the present, he has been the Medical Director of the University Clinic of High Medical Technologies.
Baaduri Mosidze served our warriors and the country at the cost of his own life during the most difficult period during the war in Abkhazia, during which he was awarded the Vakhtang Gorgasali Order of the 3rd Degree.
Mr Baadur was a man endowed with outstanding personal qualities and high values. A beloved, loyal, and selfless friend to all, he exemplified the invaluable contribution to the well-being of the medical community and the country by personal example, word and deed, every day and every minute.
He has always considered it his duty to care for the younger generation, to share knowledge and experience.
Our condolences to Mr Baadur’s family loved ones, colleagues and the medical community. It will be lacking not only for family, work and profession but also for many grateful patients and the entire population of Georgia.
