CIU Host Health Week-“Attitude”

The Caucasus International University Organized health week under the theme - "Attitude".

Tbilisi: The Caucasus International University marked the healthy week from 11 to 18 December 2023. This was organised by the “Scientific Society of Medical Students” of the Caucasus International University under the theme – “Attitude”.

During this time various activities of the week aimed at raising awareness about health care and encouraging positive approaches were held. At the same time, representatives of the “Medical Students Scientific Society” opened the week and talked about the goals of the week and planned activities.

There was also a debate held on the topic: “Individual approach according to the type of attitude (attitude on nature / behavioural attitude) Versus Unified approach to attitude”. The debate was aimed at discussing the dichotomy between unified and different approaches to attitudes.

A quiz was also held during the health week and this quiz was held on four different categories which included the cardiovascular system, digestive system, respiratory system and nervous system. Different numbers of teams have been made up of students of different courses in the Faculty of Medicine of the university. 

Questions during the quiz competition were asked in both Georgian and English language, and at the end of the quiz, the winners were announced and honoured.

During the entire week, a presentation of posters was also held where the participants presented their unique works. The main aim of the activity was to help students learn how to make academically correct poster presentations with the use of scientifically proven methods and research. Three winners were declared after the competition.

The winner of the competiton were houned by Lela Tsitaishvili, Alexander Sharashenidze, Tamar Kavtaradze and Zaza Khachiperidze.

The health week was closed with a summarising event where winners of various competitions were awarded by the chief guest. At the same time, a public lecture was held on the topic of “Attitude and psychological health – challenges of double diagnosis.” During this Public lecture, doctor of medicine and psychiatrist Tamar Aladashvili spoke about the disorders associated with these conditions and the difficulties between them.

The organisers of the event said that this would make the students aware of the health-related information. The participating students expressed their happiness being part of this event. They said they had learned a lot of things during this health week and also demanded that these types of events should be held frequently in future as well.

There was also a presentation on different aspects of the theme of Health Week. Students also asked their queries and got quick responses from the present key speakers.
