Borjomi, Georgia: Borjomi, a famous resort town in southern Georgia, invites visitors to join its New Year’s celebration on January 4, 2024. The event, organized by the government administration, will take place in Merab Kostava Square, the town’s main square.

The celebration will start at 14:00 with an orchestra and a costume heroes march featuring characters from fairy tales and cartoons. From 14:00 to 19:00, visitors can enjoy the Christmas market, where they can buy local products, handmade items, mulled wine, cinnamon cookies, and hot chocolate. The market will also offer a children’s space where kids can participate in a New Year’s toys workshop.

From 14:00 to 16:00, animators will entertain the children with games and activities. From 16:00 to 17:30, the orchestra and the fairy tale heroes will return for a festive march, followed by a meeting with Santa Claus, who will distribute gifts and sweets to the children.

The evening will be filled with music, as several Georgian singers and bands will perform onstage. Among them are Nini Karseladze, a pop singer and actress; Street Boys, a hip-hop and R&B group; Rezo and Children, a folk ensemble; and Ruska Makashvili, a TV presenter and singer. The celebration will end with a ceremonial fireworks display at 20:00.

The event is expected to attract many tourists and locals who want to experience Borjomi‘s festive atmosphere and healing mineral waters. The town is also a gateway to the nearby Borjomi-Kharagauli National Park, one of Europe’s largest and most diverse protected areas, where visitors can enjoy hiking, skiing, and wildlife watching.

Borjomi is easily accessible from Tbilisi, the capital of Georgia, by bus, train, or car. The journey takes 2-3 hours by road or 4 hours by train. For more information about the event, visit the official website of the Borjomi municipality.
