Tbilisi: According to the latest weather department reports in the next few days, there will be extremely cold weather in many parts of Georgia. Reports also say that “ frost will intensify at night” making the weather more unpleasant.
It is to be specifically mentioned that “Today in most of the region of the Kakheti region, it is possible to have light snowfall. However, It will be cloudy from the second half of the day and rainless weather is expected throughout Georgia on the next days of January 25-26.
It also said that the frost will intensify during the night hours.The head of the short-term weather forecast bureau of the National Environment Agency Dodo Gvazawa, provided the information regarding these new expected weather developments.
It is to be added that The lowest temperature is expected to be +2.0 degrees in the lowland regions of Western Georgia.similarly, in the Kolkheti plain and in Adjara the temperature will fluctuate between 0 and +2 degrees. On the other hand at night the air temperature will drop to -5, -7 degrees.
On the other hand in higher mountains such as Bakhmaro and Mestia, etc. it is possible to record temperatures between -13 and -15 degrees especially during the night hours of January 25. Once again from January 26 the frost will soften. During the day hours the air temperature in Western Georgia will rise to +12 degrees at the exposure of the sun.
The Frost will persist in eastern Georgia as well. The expected temperature will also fluctuate between -8 and -3 degrees in this part. On January 27-28, the frost will again soften.As for the mountainous regions there will be more frost compared to the western parts and the temperature will be below -16 degrees.
On January 27 the cold and humid arctic air masses will enter again in Georgia. Until the end of the month the weather will remain unstable in Western Georgia. In lowland areas more snow is expected on January 29, 30, 31. Snow is expected in mountainous areas as well.
“The frost in the Kakheti region will soften and become warmer than tomorrow and the day after ,” added Gvazawa.
