Protesters must avoid violence: State Security Service of Georgia

The state security services of Georgia warned the protesters that they should not resort to any kind of violence.They also warned the individuals of strict legal action if they continue to provoke the peaceful protestors to turn violent.

The state security services of Georgia warned the protesters that they should not resort to any kind of violence.They also warned the individuals of strict legal action if they continue to provoke the peaceful protestors to turn violent.

The service took to this social media handles to inform the protestors and organizers to stay peaceful. It stated that “ certain groups of individuals are trying to provoke protestors during the ongoing demonstrations at the Parliament of Georgia and some Georgian citizens living outside the country are actively involved in these criminal plans of violence against the police.”

It was also stated that  “anti-social elements  urge protesting young people to bring easily inflammable substances in front of Parliament to  use them  as “Molotov cocktails.”  The law enforcement agency also revealed that the foreign elements are directing these protesters to attack the police force and other members of the security forces as well. Moreover, there is some evidence suggesting the use of cryptocurrency to finance the protesters.

This is also the plan of the organizers to provoke the law enforces to shift the blame on the members of the law enforcement agencies as well. This is part of the strategy that if police will use any force to disperse the protestor it will make the way for more violent incidents.  The special target of the    aggression of      the protest    organizers is law enforcement employees. It is used to      demoralize and provoke them to collapse the state structure.

The state agency in the     last of the      statement     said that we strongly advised the participating protestors to follow the law and regulations while   staying calm and peaceful. Moreover, any use of violence by the protestor will    attract strict legal action the agency warned.  It is to be noted that for many days the protesters across the country including the capital city of Tbilisi have been protesting against the foreign agent bill. The protestors termed it as the “Russian law.”
