GNFC announces competition for full-length animated films

Tbilisi, Georgia: The Georgian National Film Center (GNFC), renowned for its support of the arts, proudly announces the competition – ‘Financing the production of animated films.’ 

The Georgian National Film Center is the government agency responsible for facilitating state funding support for film production.

A substantial amount of 1,000,000 GEL has been allocated for this prestigious event. The competition’s goal is to finance national full-length animated films from Georgia’s esteemed state budget.

To be eligible for the competition at the National Center of Cinematography of Georgia, the applicant must be a producer, either a legal entity established under Georgian law or an entrepreneur with substantial experience in film production, the audiovisual field, and/or management.

For those with a passion for animated films, this is your chance to shine. The people can submit one film project for the competition. Only a full-length animated film project, whose timing exceeds 52 minutes, will be accepted. This is your opportunity to showcase your talent and creativity to a national audience.

The contestant should not have an unfulfilled important obligation to the National Cinema Center and should not be registered in the duty register.

Within the budget determined by the competition conditions, the National Cinema Center will finance a maximum of two projects. The National Film Center’s funding share should be at most 75% of the film’s total expenditure.

Competition projects will be accepted from May 14, 2024, until May 28, 2024, at 18:00, exclusively through the official email of the National Cinema Center – documents@gnfc.ge. Please ensure your submission adheres to the guidelines and is received within the specified timeframe.

The participant shall be officially informed about the competition results, either by email or printed document, within three working days of the final decision on the competition application.
