At the forum  organized by City Hall  we discussed the challenges facing our city and reforms and projects already implemented for its new development.”  The Mayor of Tbilisi also attended and addressed the attendees. A presentation on the forum’s topic apprised the attendees of its various aspects.

The key speakers of the forum stressed that the growing environmental challenges and rising burden on natural resources have caused huge challenges for policymakers. According to experts, city management should be based on innovative planning.   Moreover, the concept of sustainable development should be given priority to reduce the burden on natural resources. The concept of sustainable development underlines the need to use natural resources as per the requirement. Moreover  the concept also demands the immediate restoration of the damage to the environment.

Urban planning in all cities (small, medium, and big) should be based on the concept of sustainable development. The Mayor of Tbilisi also shared his views with the participants and explained the measures being taken by the Tbilisi administration to create smart cities without causing minimum damage to natural resources.
