Georgia: The National Center for Education Quality Development, a key participant in the Erasmus + project, actively participates in the initiative “Strengthening the dental services of patients with special needs and promoting continuous education of dentists in Georgia“.
The project’s primary objective is to enhance the training process of certified dentists by modernizing the syllabus of dentistry educational programs in Georgian higher educational institutions, thereby equipping them with the latest knowledge and skills.
“As part of our project, we are identifying the knowledge and competencies essential for providing high-quality dental services to patients with special needs,” the National Center for Education Quality Development of Georgia writes on its official Facebook page.

Within the project, to share international experience, a working visit to Poznan University of Medical Sciences was conducted with some of Georgia’s authorized higher education institutions.
During the visit, productive working meetings were conducted with the heads of the departments of diploma dentistry, pediatric and adolescent dentistry, and special needs dentistry of the host university, leading to fruitful exchanges of knowledge and best practices.
Polish colleagues shared the characteristics and best practices of teaching dental services to people with special needs with the working group members.
A working visit was also carried out at Poznan Special Needs School Complex, which provides education for people with medium, severe, and deep intellectual disabilities.
The mentioned institution works closely with the Poznan University of Medical Sciences, where Polish and international students have one-day internships.
