According to the information of a community organization “volunteer. Ge ” a dedicated volunteer ship event was held under the theme “Green Education.” The program aimed to enhance awareness about reusing waste material to create new products.
This special program aimed at collecting secondary resources and creating necessary and updated items from them. The program witnessed the presence of the students of the N1 public school in the village of Geguti, named after King Tamar.
The school students used old waste bottles, cloth, and disposable cups to create many beautiful items. The students of classes 10 and 11 also created creative artwork and very interesting products by reusing these products.
Notably the “green education ” initiative was led by Ekaterine Nadiradze an expert hired by the Education Development and Employment Center to train the students about the importance of volunteer activities as well.
It is also worth noting that the activity was carried out with the support of the Education Development and Employment Center (EDEC) of Georgia. The entire events were held within the framework of the project called “Civil Society Initiative.”
The civil society initiative is being financed by the European Union and the Konrad Adenauer Foundation. Whereas the implementation of the project has the support of a consortium formed under the leadership of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation (KAS) together with non-governmental organizations.
These non-governmental organizations included the Center for Strategic Research and Development of Georgia (CSRDG), Civil Society Institute (CSI), Counseling and Training Center (CTC), Education Development and Employment Center (EDEC), and Institute for European Policy (IEP).
The volunteer organization, Volunteer. ge also shared the information on its official Facebook page. Volunteer. ge is a digital platform with the mission to bring the volunteers and host organisation under one roof to facilitate the best coordination.
The organization aims to provide an opportunity for NGOs and their hosts to share ideas, resources, knowledge, and experience with each other.
