The Municipality of Kvareli acquired a new waste collection vehicle to maintain cleanliness in the locality. The vehicle was handed over under the framework of the “integrated solid waste management program 2.”
It is to be specifically mentioned that waste collection is always a big task due to the rising population of the locality. The solid waste management company of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia gave the waste collector vehicle to the municipality. This is the latest, updated, and special unit with the latest features.
A handing-over ceremony was held to deliver the vehicle. The Mayor of Kvarli municipality, Givi Zautashvili, handed over the vehicle to the “Kvarli Improvement Service” of the Municipality. On this occasion the Mayor said that “Equipping municipalities with special technical means for waste collection and cleaning will significantly improve the existing waste management system.”
It is to be added that the project is being implemented within the framework of cooperation between Georgia and Germany with the financial support of the German Reconstruction Credit Bank. The project for the Kakheti and Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti regions involves upgrading the municipal infrastructure at a total cost of 6,800,000 euros.
The newly introduced truck has been manufactured by IVECO, which has the expertise to manufacture heavy-duty vehicles. The vehicle is equipped with a self-lifting system to easily lift the garbage bin that has been placed at various places across the city as well.
The mayor personally inspected the vehicle from inside. He also got information about the different features of the vehicle operation. It is also worth noting that the municipality administration also launched many efforts in previous years to upgrade the civic amenities in the area.
The Kvareli municipality shared this information on its social media handle. It also posted a picture of the new truck on its official Facebook page. On the other hand, the social media user lauds the efforts of the municipality to provide world-class civic amenities to the citizens.
