Volunteering is a great way to increase empathy towards needy people. It is also a good way to acquire new knowledge, develop skills, and engage in activities that benefit the community at large, especially in many ways for children and young people. The NGO (nongovernment organization, Atinati) hosted a training workshop for the young people to encourage them for volunteer ship.
It is to be added that to develop a culture of volunteerism among young people towards society to encourage their involvement in public life; the NGO Atinati hosted a dedicated workshop that saw the attendance of a large number of people. The association Atinati conducted training about volunteering for pupils of partner schools in the Samegrelo region so that they can learn about the multiple aspects of the work as a volunteer as well.
It is to be added that, as part of the program, a meeting was also held with Tako Kobakhidze, who apprised the attending youth about his travel history. Moreover he also provided useful information about the challenges, difficulties and opportunities associated with traveling to the participants of the event.
Events in this direction are being implemented within the framework of a special project. The project’s name is the “Partnership for Greater Resilience and Future Program ” which is being implemented by the United Nations Development Program and the United Nations Children’s Fund. The project is receiving support from the USA Agency for International Development.
A significant number of the students participated in the event and came to know about meny new facts regarding the volunteership at the diffrernt level. There was also a presentation on the topic to help the students understand why it is important to have the membership of any volunteership club, which is helpful for understanding the problems and challenges of society as well.
The students and other young people present on this occasion also asked questions to the key speakers and experts at the event.
