The non-governmental organisation namely Mtskheta-Mtianeti Regional Hub has invited public for screening of film “the smell of bread”. A workshop on this occasion will also be held under theme “Facts or Fictions: The Power of Disinformation and Propaganda in Everyday Life”.
As we know that today when disinformation and propaganda have become one of the main tools for manipulating society. The time has come for developing the ability to recognize and defend society against this fast growing threats.
This significant meeting aims to provide participants the information about the mechanisms of disinformation and propaganda. This also aims to introduce attendees on the forms of this influence and to offer practical advice for distinguishing reality from false information.
Notably based on theoretical material and practical experience, the meeting will be held in a discussion format to give opportunity to all to share their views and opinions. At the end of the meeting, a screening of Giorgi Gersamia’s short film “The Smell of Bread” will be held to receive public suggestion.
The film’s plot is based on the story of a butcher who brings a bloody morsel to his young children. The morsel obtained at the price of blood behind family comfort and warmth is horrifying.
To attend the meeting interested person have to register themselves by filling a form on online link. The exact timing of meeting is January 26, 2025; from 19:00 to 21:00. This will be held at Mtskheta-Mtianeti Regional Hub Office (IKORTA) Tserovni IDP Settlement Street N 12, Apartment N 1963.
This event will be held within the framework of the project “Strengthening Media Literacy and Civic Capacity in the Regions of Georgia” funded by the German Foreign Ministry. The representative of the non-government organisation urged citizens to participate in this event to listen to views of key speakers having many years of experience in their respective fields.
