The camp involved young people living in Kakheti and Samtskhe-Javakheti. The Leilani and Akhaltsikhe adult education centers were the main partners of the training session.
It is to be mentioned explicitly that in the framework of training young people together with trainers discussed the following issues:
- Rights and duties of young people,
- Development of leadership skills in the activities of the municipality
- Civic engagement and its forms
- Existing mechanisms for disinformation detection
- About 60 young people attended the training
- The exercise was held with the support of the Institute for War and Peace Reporting (IWPR)
A significant number of youth from the locality attended the seminar and learned about the different topics of the meetings. As far as the issue of rights and duties is concerned, the young people were given information about the rights they can enjoy as per the country’s constitution. Similarly they were motivated to obey the country’s rules and regulations.
Furthermore the seminar inspired the students to utilize their leadership skills to drive significant change in the country. With their abundant physical and mental energy the youth can play a pivotal role in leading the nation to new heights with their innovative ideas, instilling a sense of inspiration and motivation.
The issue of misinformation was also discussed in detail during the seminar. In the age of the Internet detecting misinformation is very difficult. Many times information without any firm proof creates chaos. The recent protests were also fuelled by misinformation. Cybercrime also has roots in misinformation which sometimes becomes a danger for society and a problem for law enforcement agencies.
