Tbilisi: The Prominent NGO (Non Governmnental Organisaaion) of Georgia WIC (Women Informtion Centre) have organised a second workshop in Kakheti region. The workshop was held to raise the awareness about the gender misinformation and other associated issues.
The Non Governmnental Organisation is working for a long time to protect the rights of women. This time organisation have come with concept of seminar for the women and young people who belong to conflict affected areas of country.
As mentioned above, the conflict-affected women and young people from the six regions of Georgia attended the workshop . Two Gender issues experts namely  Mamuka Gachechiladze and Lela Khomeriki lead the workshop and provide the inforamtion to attendees.
The misinformation, gender misinformation, increasing flows of false information, identifying fake news  were some of the issues raised during the  two-day session with  aims to raise awareness among women and youth members of the  these conflict affectes areas.
At the same time the attendee of event will  receive information on human rights with special focus on the  women’s rights and gender equality. The workshop also provides for the identification of priority issues which need the immediate attention of the concerned authorities.
The key speaker of the event  discuss the needs for the participants in the direction of  the planning and implementation of peace initiatives. It is worth mention that the workshop is being  carried out under the provisions of  project “Women and young women for the implementation of the peace and security agenda at the local level”.
This historic project is under implementation  with the financial support of Great Britain and  with the  partnership  of United Nations Women’s Organization. NGO also shared this information on their social media handles with glimpses  . The workshop was attended by the significant number of youth and women from locality.
Key speaker who were addressing the attendee also gave a presnetaionn to make them understand the various aspects of the topic. On  the other hand the particpants of the meeting also shared their views and expressed gratitude towards the organisers of event as well.
