Tbilisi: The court in Georgia awarded nine-year jail term for a comedian and actor. The actor namely Andro Chichinadze and comedian Onise Tskhadadze has to face nine years of jail term for their active involvement in anti-national acts.
The officials of ministry of internal affairs have claimed that this is very serious issues and we need to prevent such act of violence. They further said that in future more action will be taken against the culprits as well.
They both are charged for organizing, leading, participating in group violence and publicly calling for violent action, claimed officials of the Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs in their official statement as well.
On the other hand three more persons have been arrested for creating disturbance and violence. They also have been charged with same section under which actor and comedian were arrested and now sentence by court as well.
Many suspect articles have been recovered from houses of accused. As per law enforcer they have found and recovered, mobile phones, computer equipment, military clothing, and gas masks. These things have been taken into police custody to produce in court of law as evidence and to ensure strict punishment for violators.
It is also worth noting that because of ongoing investigations search are also being conducted at houses of many other suspected as well. Moreover, house of four person were searched in capital city of Georgia, Tbilisi. As per officials t of the ministry they have recovered a large amount of money, memory cards and computer equipment were seized.
Now they have been booked under various section of Georgia code and of found to be guilty will be sentenced for rigorous jail term. Notably 13 persons have been identified under the section article 225 and 239 of criminal code.
These articles cover various offence such as organizing, leading or participating in group violence and publicly calling for violent actions which have or may cause huge loss to life and property.
The protesters have encircled the building of Parliament. They are protesting decision of government to suspend talk of EU integration.
