Nino Tsereteli appointed as new Director of NCAE

Nino Tsereteli, a veteran of the Georgian education system, has been appointed as the new Director of the National Center for Assessment and Examinations (NCAE), the agency responsible for conducting national exams and assessments in the country.

Georgia: Nino Tsereteli, a veteran of the Georgian education system, has been appointed as the new Director of the National Center for Assessment and Examinations (NCAE), the agency responsible for conducting national exams and assessments in the country. 

The Georgian Minister of Education, Science, and Youth, Giorgi Amilakhvar, introduced him to the staff of the center at a working meeting on Wednesday and wished him success in his future work.

As the Minister noted at the meeting, the NCAE plays a crucial role in the education system, as it ensures the quality and transparency of the exams and assessments that determine the academic and professional outcomes of thousands of students and teachers every year. He stressed the importance of continuing and improving the successful activities of the center, especially in the context of the ongoing reforms and challenges in the education sector.

The meeting was also attended by the Deputy Minister of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia, who expressed his support and confidence in the new director.

Nino Tsereteli has 20 years of experience working in the education system, both in the public and the private sector. He has held various positions in the Ministry of Education and Science and the National Center for the Development of Quality of Education, where he was involved in the design and implementation of policies and programs related to higher education, vocational education, and lifelong learning. Since 2019 until now, he has been the head of the Department of Higher Education Development of the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia.

Nino Tsereteli also has a distinguished academic background, with a PhD in Law from the University of Oslo and LL.M. degrees from Leiden University and Central European University. He is a visiting fellow at the Hertie School in Berlin and a research officer at Democracy Reporting International, where he focuses on the rule of law and judicial governance in Europe.

Nino Tsereteli thanked the Minister and the staff for their warm welcome and said he was honored and excited to take on the new role. He pledged to work hard to maintain and enhance the reputation and performance of the NCAE and to foster a culture of collaboration and innovation within the center and with its external partners.
